Incidentally, Cube World was another game I was interested in for similar reasons, but it seems that just sort of slowly died. Hytale developer Hypixel Studios talked to DualShockers about the game, giving us their thoughts on comparisons between it and Minecraft.

I don't believe I have the least bit patience to deal with griefers. The fighting looks pretty engaging and fun based on the trailer, and the engine seems to be far more versatile when it comes to the graphics. So probably that's part of the reason why I find this so appealing, since it at least seems to address those concerns: There looks to be interesting boss type monsters that require cooperation to take down, and there's mention of various adventure scenarios/quests whatever that might entail. And graphic-wise I also didn't feel like it had enough options to add detail to my structures at the small scale that I preferred. In Hytale game, the player explores a massive procedurally generated world. This world. I think in the end the game felt too empty/pointless to me and interacting with all the enemies in the game grew stale after a while. I played minecraft for a bit years ago, but bounced off it pretty hard. Hytale combines the scope of a sandbox with the depth of a roleplaying game, immersing players in a procedurally generated world where teetering towers and deep dungeons promise rich rewards. Unfortunately it doesn't appear to have anything of the rest of the points of games from that era such as story, single player campaign etc. We can’t wait to embark on this journey with you. So no, no interest at all.īut you are right in that the music and imagery early on in that video do feel 80/90s. Hytale is the culmination of everything we love about games, and we wouldn’t be in a position to make it without the support that our amazing community has provided over the years. I saw this on moddb a few days back, and whilst it looks interesting if you look into it a bit there is no game or single player rpg game, it's just social gaming, so just a reskin of minecraft.
